My staff and I completed our work on the 2026 assessments on August 5, 2026. The DuPage County Supervisor of Assessments will publish the Equalization Notice in the Carol Stream/West Chicago Suburban Life Newspapers on August 28, 2026. Assessment notices will be mailed on August 27, 2026, to property owners whose assessments received changes before the equalization factor was applied.
Wayne Township assessments received an equalization factor of 1.0611. This factor is due to sale prices of homes continuing to rise significantly during the past three years. Because the equalization factor was applied to all properties by the Supervisor of Assessments, it will not cause taxes to increase. Taxes increase when taxing bodies such as school districts, villages, libraries and park districts increase their annual tax levies.
The final date to file an assessment appeal for 2026 is September 28, 2026. To appeal your assessment, you must either provide evidence that your equalized assessed value (EAV), multiplied by three, is higher than the actual market value of your property as of January 1, 2026, or provide evidence that your property is not assessed uniformly with similar properties in your area.
Assessment appeals must be filed using the DuPage County SmartFile online link:

Please call my office if you have questions about your 2026 assessment. My staff will be happy to assist you.
